RUTH FRANKLIN
Voice, Piano, Guitar, Ukulele Instructor
Board Certified Music Therapist

Ruth’s love for music began ever since she was an infant. According to her family, she was singing before she was speaking! While she was growing up, you could catch her listening to the radio on the bus ride home, singing in the choir, or playing keys in the jazz band. Music was around her all the time! It was in high school choir that Ruth realized that she wanted to pursue music as her career and learn how to share it with others.

Ruth received her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Southern Methodist University. Her clinical experience includes working with disabled adults, with children in pediatric medical settings, and with youth with mental health needs. Ruth is passionate about combining her love for music education and her knowledge of music therapy in teaching traditional and adapted music lessons in voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele.

Additionally, Ruth has taught as a music director in camp settings, directed small ensembles of varying instruments and abilities, and planned and led band sets of music for her faith communities. Ruth has a passion for using music to teach and care for others! She’s thrilled to meet students where they are and guide them to grow as people and musicians.
