LAKEWOOD CONSERVATORY OF FINE ARTS PRIVATE LESSONS POLICY
Dear Parents,
I hope this email finds you well. We understand that managing tuition expenses is a significant aspect of your child’s education, and we are committed to making this process as transparent and convenient as possible.
Please review the policies below prior to completing your registration.
SCHOOL POLICIES
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
1 Registration enrolls a student for the entire semester. New students are accepted throughout the year when space is available. Lesson times arranged at registration are considered permanent for the semester.
TUITION AND FEES
- Tuition payments can be made either on a monthly basis or for the entire
Semester Payment Discount: If you choose to pay for the entire semester upfront, a $50 discount will be applied to the total cost.
Monthly Payment Details: Monthly payments will be automatically processed on the 1st day of each month, using the credit card provided during enrollment.
Declined Payments: In the event of a declined payment, we will promptly notify you via email. You will have a grace period of 5 days from the date of receiving the email notification to resolve the payment issue. If the payment is not resolved within the 5-day grace period, a $35 late fee will be applied to your invoice. We reserve the right to suspend lessons due to late or non-payment.
- Extra Charges: Charges for books, school events, DMTA, recital fees, and rental fees will be added to the tuition of the month in which it occurred
- Enrollment: Annual enrollment fee is required for new and returning students and it renews on your anniversary date.
All Students will be automatically re-enrolled for the new semester unless our office is notified and a 30 day cancellation request is submitted to lakewoodconservatory@gmail.com before the beginning of the next Semester.
Discounts: We provide a 5% sibling discount, and it also applies to private lessons for a second instrument.
Referral Credit: Spread the word about our music lessons to your family, friends, and neighbors. When they enroll, ask them to mention you. Email us at lakewoodconservatory@gmail.com with the names of the families you’ve referred. If one of them formally enrolls, we’ll reduce your invoice by the cost of one lesson as a thank you.
ATTENDANCE AND MISSED LESSONS
- Our schools require that students take at least 3 lessons per month while Exceptions will apply to lessons interrupted by nationally and locally recognized holidays or unexpected conflicts in teachers’ schedules or health issues.
- To adjust the upcoming month’s lessons, contact us before the 25th of the current Confirm your schedule and promptly inform your teacher about any absences. After the 25th, we can’t modify lessons, leading to required makeup classes or no refunds.
- Make-up classes will be scheduled with your teacher for absences made with at least 24-hour Refunds or credits are not provided for missed classes. Students may schedule up to TWO (2) make-up classes per semester. Make-up lessons should occur within the month of the original lesson

Your teacher, specializing in instruction, does not handle billing, school specials, or discounts. For clarity and effective communication, kindly direct all billing and tuition inquiries to our administrative team. They are here to assist you promptly and efficiently.
SCHOOL POLICIES

Students can submit time change requests in writing to the office at any time, but revised lesson times are not guaranteed and are subject to availability.
- Lessons at the school: Students are expected to show up 5 minutes before their assigned lesson time prepared with appropriate books, writing utensils, and any other items assigned by the teacher. Note: Please wash your hands before each lesson.
- Lessons at home: Lesson time starts 1 min after your teacher Students should be ready to play at their scheduled time. Due to traffic, we ask you to please allow a 10-15 minute cushion when scheduling other activities around music lessons. The teacher, due to traffic, may arrive late at times but will still provide full lesson time to the student.
- Late Arrivals: SCHOOL / HOME: The teacher will wait 15 minutes MAX while trying to contact you via phone & text message. If there is no contact made, then the teacher will leave and the lesson will be considered a “No Show” to which there is no make-up lesson and you will be charged for the If a student is late to the lesson, the teacher is only required to provide the lesson time that is left to that student.
6. CANCELLATION POLICY – IMPORTANT:
ONLY FOR PRIVATE LESSONS: A 30-day written notice is REQUIRED from the 1st of the month if you choose to stop lessons. An email must be sent to your child’s instructor and LCFA administration via email at lakewoodconservatory@ gmail.com. Please view Cancellation Request Info below:
CANCELLATION REQUEST
Please write an email to lakewoodconservatory@gmail. com with your request to cancel lessons 1 month (30 days) before when you would like to stop lessons.
The email should include the following:
- Student’s Name
- Student’s Email and phone number
- Student’s Teacher and Class/Lesson
- Reason for withdrawing
- Last day of lessons
Please keep in mind that tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable. We do not have long-term commitments, therefore what we do ask is 1 month’s notice ahead of time. CANCELLATIONS should be submitted in writing via email. Phone or verbal Cancellations will not be accepted!
- Please take into consideration that LCFA faculty teaches in both of our schools and at students’ Please pick up your child/children from our school on time as the teacher may need to leave immediately to get to their next appointment
- Summer Lessons: 6 Lessons are required to continue lessons with your current SIX (6) Summer Lessons are mandatory.
- LCFA doesn’t guarantee the continuity of Instructors may change at any time due to personal and professional reasons.
When registering to LCFA or PCSM you are agreeing to our Policy.
